Overview
Add-a-stop functionality greatly improves the visibility around shipments that encounter one of the following milestones during their shipment lifecycle: a stop at a pre-pull yard, a barge terminal, an intermodal terminal, a rail terminal, a customs exam site, or a border-crossing stop. Once a stop is recorded, this data will be sent to Flexport operations teams and clients. This will ultimately help reduce the number of messages regarding shipment update requests.
How to add a stop
- Open the Flex via the active loads' page. The option to add/edit a stop will be visible on the side panel:
- Select the stop type and location:
- Log milestone data:
Note: If a stop is deleted, the data will be wiped as well.

- To view stops, you can click the carrot next to a shipment, which will show the "sub-legs":
